The youngest of three daughters, the proprietor was raised in hand-me-downs which she loved. The clean lines of her mother's Russel Wright dinnerware, her uncle's affection for WW I and WW II collectibles, and her grandmother's glistening midcentury window pitchers permanently instilled a love of classic lines and material culture steeped in nostalgia.

In short, she was a hopeless collector from birth.

But as Steven Wright says, "You can't have it all; where would you put it?" To spread around the joy of collecting, we offer on these pages some of our favorite finds.

Specialities include Bakelite, Retro and patriotic jewelry, and midcentury kitchenware.

We also research the original makers and dealers of antique and vintage accessories. Our front cover stories about Calvaire (Vol. 17 No. 3, 2007), Bergere (Vol. 18 No. 3, 2008), and Cadoro (Vol. 19 No. 3, 2009) appeared in Vintage Fashion & Costume Jewelry.

We have a soft spot in our hearts for midcentury glass, particularly Blenko. In a strange twist of fate or kismet, perhaps we live in the house that the Blenko founder's eldest daughter Grace lived in during the middle of the 20th century. In fact, she gave piano lessons in what is now one of our home offices.
